Ellen gives away the iHome Studio Series iP1 to her audience

Also gifted were the Nokia Twist 7705, a Samsung Camcorder, and naturally, the perfect iP1 companion, the iPod touch from Apple.  Oh yeah, and nice companion to other iHome models, a Tempur-Pedic mattress.

Nice.

iHome and iP1 get props from iLounge and most importantly, the people

iLounge_10_iPod-iPhone_BG_p.pdf (page 143 of 200)

iHome, and the iP1 model, together have collected 3 awards from iLounge as published in their 2010 iPod + iPhone Buyer's Guide – just in time for the holidays.  The first two awards were for Accessory Maker of the Year, 2009 – both the editor's and reader's choice.  That pretty impressive.  Not to mention sharing Reader's choice honors with the likes of Facebook and Tapulous, who won for app and game developers respectively.

Building on the success of iHome's clock radio line, it also seems that much of iHome's 2009 splash was created by the iP1, which brought in the third award, the iPod + iPhone Speaker of the Year:

The iP1 was also runner-up in Editor's Choice for Accessory of the Year, behind the Speck line of iPhone cases... which ain't bad considering that price is a major factor in that category.  The Avnera-amplified iP1 is a wirelessaudioblog fave as evidenced by the tag cloud on this site.  It's no small feet for iHome to be recognized for an audio product, beating out fellow East coast firms – Altec Lansing and Boston Acoustics, who have significant roots in speakers and acoustic designs – for the nod.

iProng: Five stars for iP1

iHome iP1, 5 stars

Wirelessaudioblog is no one to criticize website names.  I'm not exactly lighting up the world with my literal blog title.  But I can't help but think iProng is a bbq poker-set I saw being sold on Sky Mall.  Whatever the case, they performed a thorough and enthusiastic review of iHome's iP1.
None of this is to denigrate any of the competing products out there, some of which are excellent in their own right. But improbable as it may seem for a newcomer in this price range, the iP1 immediately becomes the new king of the hill

There were a couple insightful comments on the Bongiovi DPS technology:
I’ve seen plenty of cheaper stereo systems that included a button that would either enhance the bass or expand the spatiality of the audio, such options have generally had a synthetic quality to them, much like how a digital zoom on a camera is better than nothing but is really just a poor man’s substitute for a true optical zoom. But with the iP1, the Bongiovi button is a whole different creature, monitoring the music’s frequency spectrum for peaks and valleys and accentuating them appropriately.

Further:
...there was almost always a noticeable and desirable improvement when the B button was activated. I suspect that much like how the “enhance” button in iPhoto will occasionally turn a photo purple in its attempts to improve the color and light balance, there is perhaps the oddball occasional song that actually sounds worse with the iP1’s B button activated – but after having tested more than fifty songs from various eras and genres, I couldn’t find one.

Again, it's gratifying to see media folks appreciate what the iP1 has brought to the compoetitive landscape.

iP1 gets reviewed, and is "Highly Recommended" by iLounge

iHome iP1 | iLounge ReviewThe review of iHome iP1 just went up at iLounge, and to sum up, they...
...consider it to be the best overall iPod and iPhone audio system currently available at its price point.

and they feel the...
iP1 is as aesthetically close to the ideal iPod and iPhone audio system as anyone has yet come.

Not to mention, they
...were skeptical going into [their] first listening session with iP1: it’s easy to make a system sound “pretty good,” particularly in isolation from competitors, but far more difficult to build and tune a system so well that it rivals or outperforms top players placed in direct side-by-side comparison. With iP1, that’s what iHome and Bongiovi Acoustics have achieved...
