The sparkplug! I remember testing that very antenna arrangement early on in the AM1G days as part of a matrix of potential dongle printed antenna arrangements. I wonder if that was suggested to Logitech, or if they came up with it on their own.

Actually, now that I look at it a little more, it looks pretty familiar. Button, EEPROM in the same place. I bet it's a stock Avnera reference design.
