Stealth feature on new MacBooks reminds you that Apple is “boss”

The iPhone headphones, with integrated microphone, now work with the new MacBooks and MacBook Pros for use with iChat, Skype, etc.

Plus, as commenter Ian quoting from MacWorld over on TUAW:

Yes, it’s true—these new MacBooks work with your iPhone headphones. If you click the button on your iPhone headphones, iTunes pauses. Click again, and the music resumes. A double-click advances one track, and a triple-click moves back a track—just like on the iPhone.

The little integration touches – centered around user experiences – are what make Apple products still a cut-above those from the “recovering” beige-box guys.  Apple should see a little tick of replacement iPhone headphone sales once word gets out.  Should be nice for margins.

So for those of you in a crunch and NOT in a place where you can live the dream or using wireless headsets, this is a crisp alternative to a speakerphone on your lap.
