Acoustic Research launches their second set of wireless 2.1 headphones based on Avnera

For some reason, compared to the AWD210 which were introduced last year, the AWD209 look like a more compelling companion for my crowded messenger bag.

Anyone who has used the AWD210 knows that AR wasn’t messing around when they tuned these true 2.1 headphones.  The bass is breathtaking, and the highs are bright and clear.  Comfort wise, both the AWD210 and AWD209 excel.  The headband is world class and the soft earcups make long listening sessions a breeze.  I also really love the battery life of the AWD210s and know that AR sets deliver on their battery life claims.

The other reason I really dig AR’s use of our wireless technology is that you can mix and match the devices.  So if you take the USB dongle from the PC mini-bridge, you can turn their headphones into a great way to enjoy your PC music.

I’ve tested demo units of the 209s and they also deliver very well on bass and to my taste fit and feel great.

Again, AR continues to deliver the best sounding Avnera-based headphones to date.  Not everyone may agree, but I personally love the punch these sets deliver…
