Welcome to wirelessaudioblog! I’m currently busy at work in the consumer electronics industry offering consulting services for companies with strategic marketing, product portfolio management, and technology sourcing efforts. Simultaneously I am embarking on personal mission to get product on shelves to enable key usage models missing in today’s consumer experience.
Previously I was Director of Business Development for Avnera, a privately held, fabless semiconductor firm based in Beaverton, OR. I’d been with Avnera since its founding in 2004, and worked in product definition, marketing, and business development during my time there.
I’ve been keeping wirelessaudioblog since November 2006. I started the blog (called Alive Matters back then) as a way to scratch an itch I had to blog after my dad, a very prolific blogger, passed away. It was part homage, and part therapeutic. I focused on product releases and viral marketing efforts related to Avnera’s customers’ products. The blog has continued to evolve as I seek out an editorial voice, and as my focus shifts from one product introduction to the next. Most simply, today, it is a place where I discuss products and trends associated with my work which typically has as context technologies of wireless, audio, or both.
I am passionate and opinionated about technology and marketing – so for the most part, the content here will be a mixture of my interest in and my interests held in the consumer electronics and new media markets. My work has taken me all over the world — Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Suwon, Hamamatsu, Manchester, Vienna, Austin, Minneapolis, or Singapore — so you’ll see me post at any hour of the day, with any level of wits about me.
I’ve spent time working in Automotive, Aerospace, PC Hardware, Enterprise Software, and now Semiconductor markets. All the while I’ve maintained a deep interest in marketing innovations, and exercised my personal skills in brand definition, user experiences, and user interface design. Pretty soon I guess I’ll look back and realize I made a career out of wandering.
